Update On The 3 Tsimhoni Children Caught Up In A Cutody Battle

More Twists Tsimhoni Children's Custody Case
An airplane trailed a banner as a it flew over the children’s school that read: “Mommy loves you — be strong — #freethekids,” WJBK-TV reports.
Oakland County Chief Circuit Judge Nanci Grant has filed an order disqualifying herself from hearing an appeal in a child custody battle involving Bloomfield Hills residents.
Court records show grant filed the order of disqualification on Thursday. She had been scheduled to hear an appeal filed by Maya Tsimhoni over a motion which sought to have Oakland Circuit Judge Lisa Gorcyca removed from the case.
Gorcyca denied that motion earlier this month.
Tsimhoni’s custody battle with Omer Tsimhoni made national headlines this summer after Gorcyca ordered their three children to Oakland County Children’s Village when they refused to speak with their father. She later sent them to a summer camp. The children have since undergone a parental reunification program and have been living with their father.
“I believe, based on objective and reasonable perceptions, my continued assignment would create an appearance of impropriety,” reads the box Grant checked on her disqualification order.
Grant had been scheduled to hear the appeal on Oct. 21, according to court records. The case file does not indicate which judge the appeal has been assigned to.
Gorcyca is still scheduled to hear a motion in the case on Oct. 21, court records indicate.
gag order has been instituted in the case, limiting public comment on the matter.
The three Bloomfield Hills children caught in a bitter custody dispute and once sent to detention for refusing to have lunch with their estranged father have been living with him since Aug. 13, according to Oakland County Court records.
The Detroit Free Press reports that the children, ages 9, 11 and 14, are living with their father, Omer Tsimhoni, his second wife, and their half brother. The reunion took place after the children completed an intensive five-day treatment for parental alienation ordered by the court.
