When I saw the video of Saba Ahmed, founder of the Republican Muslim Coalition, wearing an American flag hijab on Fox News, I knew it was a great opportunity to talk about how powerful fashion can be. Ahmed, who literally made a fashion statement, said she wore an American flag hijab during the interview for one reason: ‘I wanted to portray that there are patriotic American Muslims and we just want to live in peace. Obviously what ISIS is doing does not represent our faith.’”
