A man walked into the ticketing area at Bush International Airport in Houston, Tx. on Thursday and fired at least two shots with an AR-15 rifle into the air, KHOU reports.
After an air marshal fired upon the man, he pulled out a pistol and shot himself. It's not immediatelly clear whether the man died, though he was taken to a local hospital.
Police tell KHOU the man did not survive. The FAA has enforced a full ground stop at Bush International.
Late Update: The man was carrying a backpack that contained a suicide note, per NBC's Pete Williams.
"So this would appear to be, Martin, based on the very sketchy details we have right now, a planned suicide event is way it's been described," Williams told MSNBC's Martin Bashir Thursday.
