The campaign arm of the House Democrats claims that it’s broken a fundraising record with the largest off-year August total ever—$6.26 million, NBC News reports. The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee has outraised Republicans in each of the last three months. The committee raised $4.15 million in August 2015—the previous high. (Republicans have not yet released their 2017 August totals.) “With the House in play, another record-breaking month of fundraising for the DCCC is a clear sign that the grassroots energy behind House Democrats is constantly growing stronger,” Tyler Law, a spokesman for the committee, told NBC News. So far in 2017, the DCCC has raised a total of $72.46 million.
