He Makes Politics Interesting
Whether they like him or not, President Obama has brought politics to the masses. During his first term, more young voters between the ages of 18 and 25 voted than ever before. Furthermore, Obama is now seen as much as a pop icon as a politician, which keeps younger people interested in current affairs.
He Pushes For Civil Rights
Being the first black President in the nation's history is no small accomplishment. During his time as President, he has continually pushed for civil rights and equality for all, no matter the color of their skin.
He Cares About The Environment
While many people care about what happens in the United States, Obama knows that the rest of the world's actions have a large effect on those at home. He has pushed for policies to try and slow the effects of global warming due to lackadaisical policies in other nations.
He Is For Peace And Equality
President Obama was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2009, an honor that comes with no small merit. The award came due to Obama's efforts to build international relations and cooperation between countries throughout the world.
He Has Brought Healthcare To The Masses
Many claim that Obamacare is a socialist movement, but in reality it has brought health care to those who otherwise wouldn't have the chance to have it. Whether they were denied because they had a preexisting condition or they simply couldn't afford it, Obama has instated health care policies that make it easier for every American to get the coverage that they need to stay healthy.
He Represents The Middle Class
Coming from a middle class family, it should come as no surprise that Obama cares about those in this economic bracket. Unlike other Presidents who have come from wealthy upbringings and instate policies that help the upper class, Obama has made for tax benefits for the masses of the middle class.
He Supports The Troops
Obama is known for continually allocating funds for those who have served in the military once they return back home. The President also doesn't just help out those who have served, but also the families of military personnel as well.
He Cares About The Future
President Obama knows that it is not just his time in office that is important, but the future of the United States is equally important. This is why he has set a goal for the United States to have the highest amount of college graduates by the year 2020. In order to make things easier on students, he has also made an effort to decrease loan amounts for students.
He Has Narrowed The Barriers For Future Candidates
Many people wondered when the nation would finally have its first black President. Now that it's happened, it seems like it's only a matter of time before the nation sees a female President. Despite what some think of him, Obama has shown that the nation is a multifaceted one with a variety of different people living in it.
He Continually Pushes For Women's Rights
Michelle Obama may be just as influential as her husband. Together, they work to make stronger impacts for women, including decreasing the pay gap for men and women. The President has also instated new policies regarding domestic abuse and acts of violence against women.
He Joins Politics With Current Events
In the past, politicians were typically considered a bit out of touch with current events outside of international issues. However, Obama has been seen on countless occasions with professional athletes, musicians, actors and other people who are important in current events. Not only does this build his street-cred, but it shows that he is interested in more than just his job as the leader of the free world.
He Represents The People
And while he may be interested in plenty more than just politics, that doesn't mean that he doesn't do his best to ensure that everyone is represented properly with his actions. With congress, it can be difficult for a President to make everything run the way that he sees fit, yet he continually pushes for rules and actions that will benefit the masses. Even those who don't agree with everything he does are likely benefited by many of the policies he institutes.
