Yet another former colleague has come forward to say that Bill O’Reilly is full of it. In a statement to Mother Jones, the left-leaning political magazine that first exposed O’Reilly’s war reporting fibs, ex-CBS cameraman Ignacio Medrano-Carbo provided some damning testimony against the host. O’Reilly has maintained that the riots he covered in Buenos Aires after the end of the Falklands War constituted a “combat situation” and an “active war zone.” He dramatically recounted dragging a bloodied cameraman named Roberto Moreno to safety amid the violence and unrest. Medrano-Carbo says there’s just one problem with O’Reilly’s story: Moreno wasn't a cameraman during the Falklands War in 1982, but rather worked as a sound engineer. Instead, Medrano-Carbo claims to have shot 99 percent of the network’s footage from Buenos Aires himself, and says he never heard of any crew member being beaten during the protests -- including himself. In typical Bill O’Reilly fashion, the Fox News host issued a statement Monday calling Medrano-Carbo’s comments “yet another coordinated attack which predictably comes on the heels of my appearance on The Late Show with David Letterman.” “Why would I lie?” Medrano-Carbo shot back. “You used 99 percent of my stuff, and I'm not your cameraman? I certainly did not get beat up. You did not help me.”
