There were supposed to be “millions” of God-fearing, freedom-loving, gun-hugging American militia crackpots in Washington DC today, taking back America while dodging Obama’s drones.
But somewhere along the way, “millions” became “dozens.” May have to put that “overthrowing America” thing on hold.
Today is the day when the Obama administration will answer for their actions and America will be restored. At least, that's what the participants of "Operation American Spring" were hoping to do.
The rally, organized by retired Army Col. Harry Riley, aims to "[restore] Constitutional government, rule of law, freedom, liberty 'of the people, by the people, for the people' from despotic and tyrannical federal leadership." Col. Riley predicted about 10 million people who descend upon the White House and the U.S. Capitol to stage a peaceful occupation of the city until their demands were met.
150 mostly white dudes were stationed in the middle of the National Mall. The other 9,999,850 must have got stuck in traffic from the rain, or something. Here are some more pics that aptly sum up Operation American Spring.
Raw Story, which has been following the movement closely, reported Friday that a live-stream of the day's events was posted online, but that for at least part of the day the feed showed only a call-in show hosted by conservative broadcaster Mark Connors, "who said he was broadcasting from a tour bus about 10 miles away from the National Mall because he could not park any closer."

Attendees took turns speaking to the crowd, including one man from New Hampshire who said it was a “disgrace” that “only “four or five hundred people showed up” (by our count, just over one hundred people were present).
After recounting a story about how he was purportedly persecuted by the Capitol Police, he told the crowd: “This is the America that you all live in today, and it has to end. I’m telling you right now, it’s going to take — in my view — a little blood, it’s going to happen, this day is coming and you better be willing to pay for it.”
Another speaker spent her time criticizing Michelle Obama, the “murderer” Eric Holder, and “Killary Clinton” over Benghazi.
Despite claims that the rally would be packed with militia members, the atmosphere of the event was more like a picnic.
