THE LAST WORD |
“Hi everyone, this is Theresa Avila for Mic, and I wanted to let you know about a bill that could be revolutionary for the fashion industry. Models are often scouted at a young age — sometimes as early as 14 — to star in ad campaigns and walk runway shows alongside adults. This poses a serious problem, advocates say, since the harsh working conditions of the fashion world aren’t suitable for young adults. Current regulations vary from state to state, but a new bill introduced in New York aims to create a set of federal rules that could change all that.” |
