“Lumbersexual,” “on fleek” and “Dark Web” weren’t bae enough to win Oxford Dictionaries’ Word of the Year. The winner isn’t actually a word at all — it’s the “tears of joy” emoji face, which comprised about 20% of all emoji use in the U.K. and U.S. this year. Everyone celebrated with memes and emoji cake, naturally. |
