Outraged people took to Twitter to slam Google for its Veterans Day Doodle. Why? Because six of the people featured appear to be of color and just one is light-skinned. The complaints mostly accused Google of failing to represent the many white vets in the U.S. But here’s the thing — while white veterans comprise 66.3% of the veteran population, that’s down from 90.9% around World War II, and it’s on track to change further. As a result, we’ll be seeing an even more diverse veteran class. |
