As much as we love watching Orange Is the New Black, it’s a far cry from what prison is really like — especially for LGBTQ people. Black and Pink’s new report, Coming Out of Concrete Closets, reveals seriously disturbing stats. Of the almost 1,200 prisoners surveyed, 85% reported experiencing solitary confinement, a punishment the report said is twice as likely to be served to people of color.
