GOP STATE OF THE UNION RESPONDERS OF YEARS PAST

 This year it's all about Marco Rubio, but last year, then-Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels delivered the GOP response to the State of the Union. ABC's Arlette Saenz notes that Daniels considered a presidential bid in 2012 but ultimately decided against it for family reasons. In 2011, Wisconsin Rep. Paul Ryan, chairman of the House Budget Committee, gave the Republican response, delivering it from the House Budget Committee room. Ryan used his speech to promote his plans for cutting spending, reducing the national debt and pushing for job growth. Preceding him in 2010 was Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell, who was then vice chairman of the Republican Governors' Association. McDonnell gave his speech from the House of Delegates' chamber in Richmond, speaking in front of a live audience. And then there was Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, whose 2009 speech was better remembered for its halting delivery than its substance.
