White Nationalists Celebrate Trump’s ‘Dreamers’ Line at SOTU

One line from President Donald Trump’s first official State of the Union address seems to have stood out to his most prominent white-nationalist supporters Tuesdaynight. Speaking about illegal immigration, Trump said, “My duty, and the sacred duty of every elected official in this chamber, is to defend Americans,” the president said during the section of his speech about illegal immigration, “because Americans are dreamers, too.” With that phrase, Trump drew a sharp line between the DREAMers, who were brought to the U.S. illegally as children and those born in this country. Both alt-right leader Richard Spencer and former Ku Klux Klan Grand Wizard David Duke highlighted that line to their followers.

DOJ Gave Mueller Docs on Foiled Sessions Resignation

The Justice Department reportedly turned over a trove of internal documents to special counsel Robert Mueller’s team, including correspondence related to the planned resignation of Attorney General Jeff Sessions, ABC News reports. The move could reveal just how widely Mueller has cast his net in the course of the Russia investigation, which may have expanded to determine whether President Trump “sought to obstruct a federal inquiry into possible connections between his presidential campaign and Russian operatives,” sources told ABC News. Trump has repeatedly slammed Sessions in public, admitting that he would never have nominated the former Alabama senator to run the DOJ if he’d known Sessions would recuse himself from the Russia investigation.

George W. Bush On Donald Trump

Will Ferrell returned to “Saturday Night Live” as George W. Bush, where he reminded viewers just how bad he had been as president.

The veteran cast member hosted Saturday’s episode to reprise his portrayal of the newly popular 43rd president.
“I just want to remind you guys — I was really bad,” he said. “Like, historically not good.”
Ferrell said President Donald Trump could make any of his predecessors seem better by comparison, but he urged viewers not to fall into that trap.
“Please don’t look back on my presidency and think this is how we do it,” he said. “Heck, we’re still in two wars that I started. What’s got two thumbs and created ISIS? This guy.”
Ferrell recalled that Bush had been so bad that an angry Iraqi threw a shoe at him in frustration, and he mangled one of the former president’s own garbled phrases.
“Shoe me once, shoe’s on you,” Ferrell said. “Shoe me twice, I’m keeping those shoes.”

Trump Takes Fake News To New Height

Image result for trump on cell phone

It looks as if a new entry might be developing, just in time for awards season. The day that President Donald Trump has promised to present his “Fake News Awards” provides a clear and stark example of how the concept has evolved over the past year. “Fake news” has gone from useful dodge and easy applause line to a license to create entirely new realities. “Alternative facts” seems quaint compared to the weaponization of misinformation that’s occurred under the president’s leadership. In that vein, it’s remarkable that two U.S. senators are claiming on the record that the president did not use a profanity – and a Cabinet secretary even under oath that she “did not hear" it — a profanity that multiple other people in the room – members of both political parties - assert flat out that he used. Accounts have evolved to match the White House’s claims. The officials who back up the president would happen to be ones that share Trump’s policy goals – or, at least, the goals he has as of now. Maybe they’re telling what they believe to be the truth. But they won’t even get trophies for their recollections, or for what they’re forgetting.
