GOP Swift-Boating

President Obama’s campaign on Wednesday accused Republicans of “Swift Boat tactics” after ads featuring U.S. intelligence and Special Forces operatives criticizing him for taking credit for the raid that killed Osama bin Laden. “Swift Boat” is a term for harsh campaign tactics adopted after former President George W. Bush’s campaign made now-discredited attacks on John Kerry’s military record in 2004. Obama’s campaign spokesman Ben LaBolt hit back on the attack ad, saying Mitt Romney is only using it because of a lack of foreign policy experience. The 22-minute video released Wednesday by a group called OSPEC accuses Obama of taking undeserved credit for the bin Laden raid.
